Calvin grew up right here in the Lake Highlands neighborhood in Dallas. A shy kid, he developed an early passion for technology and gaming. It was not until high school that he came out of his shell. He joined the high school band (band nerd!) and the country western dance team at Lake Highlands. He still loves to go two-stepping with his friends and also digs playing his alto sax.
Calvin’s desire to become a counselor was sparked by the incredible change counseling made in his own life. During a long struggle with anger, fear, sadness, and family issues he sought therapy and began to see positive changes in his life while his anger and sadness began to dissipate. He can testify firsthand about the positive influence of a good dose of psychotherapy – especially for adult children of alcoholics!
A graduate of Texas Tech University (gotta love beautiful, windy Lubbock!) Calvin earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. He is currently finishing up work on his masters degree in counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. LifeWorks was lucky enough to snag him through his professor’s recommendation (Thanks, French!)
One of Calvin’s unique gifts is his unwavering hope for others. This hope, coupled with his compassion for people gives him a deep held belief that each individual has the potential to overcome obstacles.
Calvin specializes in depression, addictions, adult children of alcoholics, survivors of abusive families, relationship issues, divorce recovery and Christian counseling.
When he is not reading or studying for class, he enjoys exercise, Netflix, eating Italian food, relaxing with friends and playing that alto sax (Charlie Parker, anyone?)
