Karoline grew up in Dallas,Texas, and apart from a stint in Waco for her undergrad, she’s never lived anywhere else! Growing up with three older sisters, she quickly realized the importance of relationships and connecting with those around her.
Because her whole family attended Baylor University, it made her decision an easy one. During her time as a Bear, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Public Relations, and Marketing. However, after a year in the corporate world, she realized something was missing. After lots of soul searching, she took a leap of faith and applied for graduate school. She currently attends Texas Woman’s University and is working towards her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She’s stoked to be at LifeWorks for her internship – and we feel pretty lucky to have her!
Life presented Karoline with some challenges and major life changes during middle and high school (does this sound familiar or what?). Karoline started to struggle with anxiety and feelings of uncertainty, which led her to counseling. During the
process, she discovered the unique place of authenticity the counseling room is. She found intense healing and growth through both the therapeutic relationship and expressive arts.
Karoline is a fierce believer in instilling hope, joy, and balance into her clients’ lives. She also believes in encouraging clients to embrace their best self and live a life of purpose. She has a passion to help people heal from past wounds, and she has a special interest in play therapy and expressive arts. She desires to be with her clients as they find their purpose, identity, faith, empowerment and overall well-being. She enjoys combining aspects such as fitness, nutrition, expressive arts, and mindfulness into her counseling.
She’s a lover of coffee, animals, crafts, plants, and anything turquoise. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her family, boyfriend, and of course her border collie, Jasper! She loves to read, run, binge watch shows on Netflix (hello Gilmore Girls and Stranger Things) and would spend all day painting and doing crafts if she could!
