Katie is committed to creating a safe, compassionate and supportive space for her clients to feel accepted, validated and understood. She sees each unique situation and life journey as an opportunity for personal growth and empowerment. Her dedication to the powerful and transformative counselor-client relationship is rooted in her own personal journey.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Katie grew up cherishing community and connecting with those around her. During her early years, she could be spotted on the basketball court, hanging out with neighborhood friends and seeing musicals, of which Les Misérables still remains at the top of her list! Her transition into high school was marked with a loss of identity and uncertainty as she navigated through her parent’s divorce. Resistant at first, Katie delved deep into counseling which quickly became a place of authentic discovery and an incredible experience where she felt both seen and heard without judgment.
Katie’s experience with and dedication to helping others translated into earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University. Go Frogs! Katie spent her college years creating special memories, traveling and studying in Argentina and Peru and celebrating the struggles and triumphs of a 20-something. Katie recently completed her Master’s in Counseling at the University of North Texas. She is thrilled to join the LifeWorks family, exploring issues surrounding self-worth, shame, anxiety, relationships, and identity. Katie works with adolescents and adults specializing in couples, challenging life transitions, childhood neglect, and adolescent and adult children of divorce. She often utilizes the Enneagram in her work with clients to help them gain personal insight and awareness.
On her off hours, Katie is sure to be spending time with family, cooking for friends, and traveling the world in pursuit of discovering new cultures and delicious food! Regardless of who she’s interacting with, Katie’s intention is to remind others that they are enough, loved and heard.
