Brittany Stilwell

Brittany grew up restless in a small town in East Texas. Never a country girl, she thrived on weekend trips to the city and exciting ventures to new places. If you asked her at three-years-old what she wanted to be when she grew up, she’d tell you “supoman” (That’s “Superman” for those of you who don’t speak babytalk). While flying isn’t a skill she’s mastered (unless you count indoor skydiving), she clearly had a passion for helping people at a young age, so she dedicated her time to mastering that skill instead… and of course, there was no better place to do it than Lifeworks!

Brittany completed her bachelor’s degree of Psychology at New Mexico State University and her Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas at Tyler. Brittany spent the early years of her career traveling between various Emergency Rooms assessing the lethality of patients struggling with psychosis and suicidal or homicidal ideation. After countless night shifts in the ER, Brittany finally made the transition into private practice where she’s worked whole-heartedly ever since.

Brittany works with adolescents and adults; she specializes in personality disorders, sexual abuse victims, the LGBT community, & challenges unique to being transgender. Brittany also enjoys working closely with family members & loved ones of those with personality disorders as those relationships can be particularly challenging.

She is an advocate of whole mind and body health and therefore, regularly collaborates with professionals of other modalities (nutritionists, functional medicine, psychotherapeutic yoga, etc.) to provide her clients with the opportunity and resources for the most comprehensive care possible. Brittany is also committed to promoting self-care in this fast-paced, hustle of American culture. She personally practices meditation and incorporates meditation and mindfulness techniques in therapy to assist adults & teens in building resiliency to stress.

In her spare time, Brittany loves to wakeboard and will jump at any excuse to be near water. She’s constantly trying new things and loves planning & seeking out her next adventure. Skydiving? Rock climbing? Hang gliding? …she may be a bit of an adrenaline junky!
