Fariah is passionate about working with young adults, adults, families, and couples dealing with trauma, communication, pre-engagement/marriage, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, depression, perfectionism, and challenges with transitions. Fariah also loves working with issues around parenting – helping parents have healthier communication with their children and establishing healthy relationships.
Fariah believes that problems are often caused by getting stuck in patterns. These patterns usually are based on past experiences – which means they can be overcome! Fariah will help her clients gain a better understanding of oneself by looking into childhood experiences, and learning how those may have created a skewed self-concept, individual lifestyle, and family dynamics.
Fariah has moved 14 times (including an international move) and understands how important it is to be culturally sensitive. She believes there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy and understands that each person is unique. She works collaboratively with her clients to build on each client’s strengths.
Fariah completed her Bachelor’s degree with honors from George Mason University in Psychology and Conflict Analysis and Resolution. She is currently working on her Master’s at Southern Methodist University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
When not at Lifeologie or focusing on her Master’s, Fariah enjoys reading, taking walks, nature, modern calligraphy, and decorating cupcakes (not so much baking them!). Fariah speaks Urdu and Hindi as well.
