Jaris (pronounced like Paris with a J) holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas and is an LPC-Associate under the supervision of Tiffany Ashenfelter, LPC-S. Her specialties include adult and adolescent counseling, attachment and family of origin work, and women’s emotional health concerns including grief, life transitions, infertility, and postpartum wellness. She has facilitated groups for those in recovery, those suffering from intimate partner and family violence, and those experiencing severe anxiety and depression.
A native to North Texas, Jaris has worked in several community settings including a college counseling center, adult and senior care facility, outpatient mental health clinic, and local Dallas hospital. Her work with a veteran’s treatment court within the judicial system has provided her with knowledge regarding the complexities of treating PTSD and TBI. She has structured life development activities that go beyond the traditional in-office therapy setting for clients requiring 24/7 care following residential and inpatient treatment.
Jaris’ relational approach and respect for individual client needs guide her focus in helping people find creative solutions to stuck problems. In her free time, she loves a good mountain view, watching old movies, and is enjoying navigating life as a new mom!
