Get to know Raquel

Raquel is Gottman Level 3 Trained, and a Prepare Enrich (Pre-Marital) Facilitator.

Raquel enjoys working with adults of all ages and couples who struggle with Religious/Spiritual Abuse, Self-Esteem, Self-Worth, Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Infidelity, Divorce, Pre-engagement/marriage, Parenting, Stress Management, Trauma, and can provide Christian Counseling. She truly understands how humans are at different developmental stages in their lives and need help navigating those transitions. Raquel believes therapy is a relationship that has the ability to provide understanding, safety and promote positive change. She has hope for human potential growth and change. She also believes that self-acceptance opens the door to change and considers counseling to be a collaborative effort. She views her role as helping clients by giving the tools needed to have a healthy and successful life.

A native Texan, Raquel was born and raised in Dallas.  In her large extended family - with whom she is very close -  Raquel was exposed to *ahem* many varieties of personalities!  Her life experiences led her to her first counseling experience during her senior year of high school.  After that first taste of therapy, she wanted to know more about how the brain works. She knew she had found her calling.

Raquel started at the University of Texas at Dallas and then transferred to Southern Methodist University to complete her undergraduate degree in psychology. After taking a year off from college, Raquel decided to work on her mental health and learn more about herself. She volunteered at elementary schools to keep her mind sharp and enjoyed giving back to her community. She completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in August of 2020. Now, she is a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

When Raquel is not working at Lifeologie Dallas or meeting up with different leadership groups in the community, she finds time to be outdoors. She loves to admire nature in its natural beauty and appreciates conservation organizations. She loves the beach and looks forward each summer to travel to new State/National Parks. Raquel loves to try all kinds of cuisines, have quality family time and enjoy lazy afternoons with her cat Thomas.
