Get to know Yamna
When Yamna Haider was growing up, she became drawn towards counseling when she witnessed the lack of acceptance of mental health in her community and the people surrounding her. That experience encouraged her to want to take the lead in showing people the importance of therapy and taking care of their mental health.
Yamna is currently providing life coaching. Her specialties are working with clients with depression, anxiety, working on life transitions, and goal setting. She has over 8 years of experience working in the mental health field as a crisis line counselor and case manager/skills trainer at a local mental health clinic. She has also completed her internship as a counseling practicum student at a local private practice.
Yamna is based in Houston and also available via online telehealth services for clients in Richardson, Frisco, Allen, Austin and Houston. Yamna completed a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston-Victoria and is currently working towards completing her licensing exam to become a licensed professional counselor.
Yamna uses a person-centered approach. She also likes to understand and get into the client’s past in order to connect with the client’s future and set goals that are manageable. Her favorite quote is: “Owning our story can be challenging, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.”
Yamna has been married for several years now and has 2 children only 1 year apart! So, managing life and juggling everything together is a current, personal goal of her’s. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, traveling and watching a good show, all while eating and exploring good food!
