Getting To Know Emily

Emily is a native Texan who was born and raised in a small town outside of Houston, TX. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she was also a student-athlete for volleyball. After graduation, Emily moved to Fort Worth where she obtained a Master of Education in Counseling at Texas Christian University. Throughout the program, she continued to feed her love of volleyball through coaching club and even did her internship with Lifeologie at the Fort Worth and Dallas locations in 2015!

Style and Approach

Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked in a variety of different mental health settings including county mental health, private practice with a focus on college athletes struggling with performance anxiety, and eating disorder treatment facilities. She primarily specializes in eating disorders but also enjoys working with young adults in life transition, individuals struggling with anxiety disorders, and infertility/pregnancy issues.

Emily believes in walking side-by-side with her clients as they heal, grow, and navigate the discomfort of change. She operates from the belief that the therapeutic relationship is sacred. Therefore, she strives to create an environment built on the foundation of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence. Emily understands how difficult therapy can be and is honored to get to share this journey with her clients.
