Counseling can be beneficial to assist adolescents aged 13-18 who are experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges. At Lifeologie Counseling Oak Cliff we understand that teens and tweens have their own set of issues that many adults just don’t get. The counseling process is designed to gain the trust of your child. We provide a sounding board that may not be available in other environments in which they may not feel comfortable fully expressing themselves.
The professional counselors at Lifeologie Counseling Oak Cliff will provide your teen/tween with the following, based on their unique needs:
Outcomes to be expected from ongoing counseling may include a change in behavior, improved relations with friends or family, less anxiety, or improved self-esteem. The length of therapy depends on the complexity and severity of problems.
This time of life is a period of intense growth, emotional and sexual plasticity, and the rapid evolution of feelings, moods, and behaviors. Teens & tweens are seeking answers to new questions, developing new roles, struggling with the shape of their new post-childhood reality and becoming impatient to develop an identity. There is an intrinsic struggle for independence, which may create stress at home. More than other age group, teens & tweens tend to act out feelings and are exquisitely sensitive to privacy, independence and identity.
Confidentiality is very important to teens and tweens. Our counselors are very sensitive to this and consider it an essential aspect of successful therapy as long as there is no threat of physical harm to the adolescent or anyone else.
In addition to the child, parents and other family members may also need help understanding the process and the challenges being faced by the teen/tween in counseling. From the beginning, our counselors work with the family to establish an effective, trusting relationship
