“What should I do next?” – said every teen, college student, and young adult.
Does it feel like you are experiencing a mid-life crisis sooner than expected? Or maybe you’ve had a successful launch into life, but somewhere along the way you crashed and burned. If any of the previous statements rang true for you, then Denis is your guy! Trust us, he gets it. He is working on coining the phrase: “Quarter-life Crisis.”
It doesn’t matter if you want to call it a failure to launch, problems after launch, or just, “I don’t know what I’m doing with my life.” The journey of finding yourself, figuring out who you want to become, and getting there is one that is always, long, and never straightforward. Regardless, you don’t have to walk that journey alone.
Denis originally immigrated to the United States from Nairobi, Kenya (yeah, whoa!) when he was 5.5 years old. He spent the rest of his childhood in West Michigan. When he set off for college, he had one thought in mind. Find a career that will make you money. So, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Management made complete sense. Still, it didn’t take long before he found himself feeling unfulfilled and struggling to figure out what he was doing wrong. It took a lot of time to figure out, but when he enrolled into Western Michigan University’s Masters in Counseling Psychology, he knew he didn’t just find a new career, but also a path that would be more fulfilling (AND pay the bills – yay!).
When he is not interning at Lifeologie, Denis spends his free time reading and writing as much as possible. He loves learning and trying new recipes (he only sometimes burns them). Denis is also an avid movie fan. He especially loves the classics: Good Will Hunting, the Star Wars movies and Remember the Titans.
Denis believes that living a good life is not just about what you do for a living or how much money you make. It’s about finding people and activities that bring joy into your life. Feeling lost? Give Denis a call.
At a time when mental health services are more important than ever, Lifeologie is offering remote therapy, remote group and mini-sessions, and discounted services for front-line personnel.
