An LPC supervisor and experienced child and parenting therapist, Katie specializes in helping families through tough transitions. She is a certified Collaborative Divorce coach and is passionate about helping families who need help when things get tricky. Katie also gets a kick out of working with women who are struggling to manage the balance of mom-ing while trying to also be a whole person.
Katie got her start as a play therapist intern at Lifeologie in Dallas. (Howdy, y’all!) During her internship, she fell in love with the creative, collaborative, highly specialized approach that Lifeologie brings to each client. It became her dream to duplicate this somewhere someday!
When her husband was transferred to Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 2013, she traded in her cowgirl boots for a parka, said her (very sad) goodbyes to the Lifeologie team, and headed to Michigan with her family.
Since then, she has gained lots of AMAZING experience as a play therapist and completed highly specialized training in trauma work with kids, tweens, teens and young adults (for you therapy junkies, she utilizes TF-CBT). She specializes in working with kids who are showing signs of anxiety and loves coaching adults through difficult parenting dynamics.
Katie couldn’t wait to bring the Lifeologie approach to Michigan and is now the co-owner of Lifeologie Counseling Grand Rapids.
When she’s not working, you will find Katie hanging out with her wonderful husband and their two beautiful daughters. She also likes to paint and is way into trying new restaurants (although you can often find her at Ada joints like Schnitz or Zeytin)!
