Kenia, an Oak Cliff local, has seen the community prosper over the last few years. She is passionate about helping those in her community. Kenia believes in spreading awareness to break down the stigma of mental illness in the Hispanic community by educating the benefits of counseling.
Kenia completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Child Learning and Development at the University of Texas at Dallas. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University.
Since then, Kenia has grown to work with an array of clients including those who struggle with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, boundary setting in relationships, and those transitioning into adulthood. She has also provided counseling to children with severe emotional disturbances and adolescents with traumatic pasts. Kenia believes in hosting a safe and non-judgmental space where anyone can feel free to achieve their therapeutic goals.
In her spare time, Kenia understands the importance of balancing work and home life, which is why she makes it a point to always have time for her husband, their baby, and three cats.
