Getting to Know Hannah

Hannah was born in Wheaton, Illinois but grew in The Woodlands, near Houston, so claims Texas as her true home. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas. For several summers, she worked at a camp for junior high students and as a wilderness guide for high school students. From these experiences, she discovered a desire to walk alongside others as they processed their past hurts and future uncertainties.

After graduation, she moved to China to teach English. She loved interacting with others from another culture, and this experience provided her a deeper understanding of how to relate to people with different cultural backgrounds. Upon returning state-side, she enrolled in Dallas Theological Seminary to pursue her desire to work in counseling.

Style & Approach

Hannah is passionate about walking alongside others to find emotional and relational healing. She believes everyone’s story matters and works with her clients to help them believe in their intrinsic worth and value. Her specialization is with young adults in break-up recovery, relational difficulties, self- esteem struggles, processing through family issues, indecision, disordered eating, and severe anxiety. She is EMDR-trained and believes this effective and efficient therapy can be a great option for those processing through painful past memories or who feel stuck in inhibiting beliefs. As a former college athlete, she has a passion to work through insecurities and anxieties that often accompany competing in high-intensity sports. She also offers integrative Christian counseling for those who desire a faith-based approach.

Relationships are so often the avenue of growth and unfortunately, also the area of greatest pain so in addition to individuals, Hannah also focuses on couples in her counseling. She enjoys working with those who are seriously dating, engaged, and married and seeking a healthier, more fulfilling relationship. She is certified in Prepare & Enrich, a research based approach for those seeking premarital counseling in a structured format.

In her spare time, Hannah loves being outside hiking, biking, or walking with her husband, family, and friends. She loves curling up to read a good book and enjoying a great cup of coffee.
