Getting To Know Laura

Laura grew up in Plano and has lived in Texas since the age of three. She married her high school sweetheart and has three children, two grown and one that believes that he is. Laura has held many jobs over the years including graphic designer, headhunter, curriculum writer, barista and now, a counselor.  One thing all her jobs had in common was that they were centered around making connections with people and building relationships.

Life Is Messy. Building Strength Helps.

Maintaining a marriage of 28 years and raising three kids has taught Laura that life can be messy… and that’s ok. Her passion is to help families become strong teams that can learn how to face life’s challenges together. Whether the focus is marriage counseling, family therapy, or counseling for children and teens, the goal is to build stronger communication, trust, and respect in those relationships.

Helping Families Impacted By Trauma, Abuse, And Neglect.

Laura developed a passion for helping families when she was working with the youth group at her church. As her oldest child started to approach high school graduation, Laura went back to school to get her Masters in Counseling at Dallas Baptist University. As a counselor, Laura has worked at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County with families, teens, and children who had been impacted by trauma, abuse or neglect.  When she isn’t working, Laura likes to travel with her husband and youngest son to paintball tournaments where he competes and where she is the team photographer.  She says dodging the paintballs helps keep her stay in shape.
