Get to know Camryn

Camryn is a Texas native who earned a bachelor of science degree in Psychology from Tarleton State University. Presently, she is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling practicum student working toward completing her master of science degree, at the same university. Camryn has an extensive background in education, youth pastoring, women’s ministry, and public speaking. Camryn values multiculturalism and wants it to be a key component in her counseling practice. She welcomes all people from any background to participate in their mental wellness journey with her.

Camryn’s approach to counseling is holistic and egalitarian. She believes self-discovery and growth can be challenging but well worth it. As she supports clients on their journey, Camryn provides insight and a safe space for reflection on behaviors that no longer serve one’s wellness. Encouragement and empathy serve as the foundation to the counseling relationship she builds with clients. She aims to spotlight client strengths, self-confidence, and bolster client self-worth, leaving no room for judgement. Camryn’s aim is to create an environment where clients feel safe and free to be themselves. Her goal is for each client to leave their session undergirded with courage and empowerment as they process each step of their growth.

Camryn has been married to her high school sweetheart of 22 years, she and her husband have two wonderful young adult children. She loves spending time with her Frenchie and English bulldogs, Olly and Charlie. Being outside is a must for Camryn! Camping, hiking, and gardening are her go to pass times. She also enjoys a good movie night with popcorn, and she will never turn down a good cup of coffee!
