Getting To Know Jillian
A Texan throughout her life, Jillian Olkowski was born and raised in Dallas, Texas before moving to Katy. She received a Bachelor of Psychology from Baylor University and quickly returned to Dallas to complete her Master of Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS).
As Jillian grew up lending a listening ear to others, the field of counseling seemed like a natural fit. While at DTS, Jillian grew in excitement for the profession as she attended her own personal counseling for the first time. She experienced the power of emotional safety and unconditional positive regard in her own struggles with anxiety.
Style and Approach
As a counselor, Jillian strives to provide the same empathy and acceptance that deeply impacted her. She is a person-centered therapist who believes that this compassion, warmth, and empowerment in the context of relationships helps to facilitate her clients’ growth.
During her practicum experience, Jillian worked at Hope’s Door New Beginnings Center, a domestic violence agency. Here, she provided therapeutic services to children and adolescents who struggled with anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. She also co-led healthy parenting and domestic violence groups for adults while at Hope’s Door.
Jillian works with teens starting at age 13 and young adults. She works with those dealing with anxiety and grief and offers Christian counseling.
Jillian now resides in Frisco, Texas. Her favorite activities include anything with her husband, Mark, involvement in her local church and homegroup, curling up with a good book, and slowly decorating her home.
