Get to know Jordan
Originally from Michigan, Jordan has been in the triangle area for many years. She received her undergraduate degree in Family Community Services with a minor in psychology from East Carolina University in 2017. She then obtained her master’s degree (MA) in Marriage and Family Therapy with concentrations in Addictions and Multicultural Counseling from Appalachian State University. She is currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in North Carolina.
Her clinical experience includes working in a variety of therapeutic settings with diverse populations. Her clinical experience began at Daymark Recovery Services where she worked with a variety of programs including intensive in-home, intensive outpatient for substance use and trauma, and providing individualized outpatient services. Her experience also includes providing case management services, crisis interventions, and advocacy for her clients. She has worked with those who struggle with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, relationship/familial conflict, and other life stressors. In particular, Jordan works with those who have family-of-origin and/or relationship concerns.
Jordan views the world through a systemic lens and focuses on processes that drive problems so she can help others interrupt these destructive patterns and develop healthier, more effective patterns. She takes a solution-focused, strength-based approach with her clients in addition to utilizing cognitive-behavioral techniques. She believes that her clients are the experts in their own lives and that through your work together you will be able to make meaning of your situation and work towards your identified goals. Jordan knows that therapy can be challenging and in the therapy room you can expect to be validated yet challenged to reach your goals. She has training in Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, DBT, and other family models. She works with teens, adults, couples, and families.
Outside of therapy, Jordan’s other passion is working with animals and you will often find her horseback riding or petting a stranger’s dog. She also likes to listen to music, traveling, and trying new foods.
