Get to know Sydney

Sydney enjoys working with adolescent & adult individuals on anxiety, perfectionism, social anxiety, anger management, grief, life transition, & sexual identity development.  She can also offer Integrated Christian Counseling.  Sydney works from an existential orientation using cognitive-behavioral interventions to see people make meaning out of difficult circumstances & find healing.

Sydney was born and raised in Lubbock, TX, with her parents & two crazy little brothers.   Growing up they were involved in every sport imaginable--basketball, skiing, hiking, and biking were some of her favorites.  She attended Texas Tech University (wreck em’) & received a Bachelor of Arts in Honors Arts and Letters.  She then took off to Utah for two years helping to plant a church while enjoying a season pass of skiing!  Afterward, she moved back to Texas and is now attending Dallas Theological Seminary where she’s working on a Master’s in Counseling.

Sydney grew up in a loving home but was a spectator to the immense damage trauma & alcoholism had on her parents and extended family. In college, she decided to be trained as a therapist in order to offer professional help to life’s most difficult obstacles.  Sydney loves people and hopes to provide a safe, accepting, positive environment where they can make sense of the past, find healing in their present, and hope for the future.

When Sydney is not at Lifeologie she is most likely drinking coffee, playing spikeball, biking, reading, and hanging out with friends and family.
