Get to know Tristyn
Noell has an affinity for working with adults who have experienced childhood trauma and are still experiencing the effects of that trauma. She also has a passion for working with adult individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and attachment related relationships issues, such as codependency, difficulty dating/forming relationships/friendships. Her passion for the counseling field began when her fourth grade school counselor selected her to be a peer mediator. This opportunity proved to be an “Aha” moment for Noell; having grown up in a high-conflict family, Noell became infatuated with the concept that conflict doesn’t have to persist; it can be managed, if not resolved. At the ripe age of 10 years old, Noell’s life path was laid before her.
Noell kept true to her path to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. In December of 2013, she graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration with the goal of obtaining a graduate degree in counseling and opening her own ice cream parlor. Upon graduation, she began working at an inpatient behavioral health hospital where she gained invaluable knowledge and perspective about the many concerns that individuals face in life. In December of 2017, Noell completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. Lifeologie was lucky to snag her as an intern during her graduate program, and now as an LPC!
Noell gives credence to the fact that each client’s journey is unique, and should be treated as such. She strongly believes that the client is the expert in their own life and that her place is not to provide clients with textbook answers, but to help her client’s arrive at their own unique solutions. Her approach is one that is compassionate and empathic at all times, humorous when appropriate, and direct when needed. It is these qualities that she believes aids change, insight, and enlightenment.
My spirit for life is fueled by my love for my family, husband, friends, and animals. In my downtime, you will catch me watching (and probably yelling at) the FoodNetwork or HGTV channel (because clearly, I am the expert in all things food and home). In addition to being a counselor, I have a dream of owning my own ice cream parlor; I might be a little obsessed with ice cream.
