Get to know Valerie

Sometimes, life gets hard. Sometimes, life has been hard and it just doesn't seem to stop! Valerie works with older adolescents 8 and above, teens, and adults to help ease some of this toughness. If you struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, racial issues, grief/loss, trauma, or low self-esteem and confidence, Valerie wants to work together as a collaborative team to identify areas in your life that you want to see improvement.

Valerie believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to discuss their lives, both high and lows. Rooted in feminist and person-centered theory, her approach to people is that we all have inherent worth and the capability to improve our lives by completely expressing ourselves, even when the world at large seems intent on keeping us down.

One of her core beliefs is expressed up the saying, “We cannot shame ourselves into change, only love ourselves into evolution.” Valerie is here to meet you where you are, to show you where you can go, and to be by your side every step of the way.
