Here are a few Lifeologie-approved ways to get a handle on workplace stress:
1. Start your day with intention
Get ahead of that morning rush by planning ahead—lay your clothes out, set your alarm with wiggle room, and carve out time for a balanced breakfast. Nourishing your body (and mind) first helps you step into your day feeling focused and ready—not frazzled.
2. Clarify your role
If you find your workplace responsibilities are as clear as a foggy windshield, pause and ask for guidance. A quick check-in with your supervisor or mentor could transform chaos into confidence. And remember, seeking clarity is not a one-and-done—sometimes it takes a few tries, and that’s completely normal.
3. Dodge the drama
Office drama can spiral faster than you think. Steer clear of workplace gossip, heated debates, or divisive conversations. If you do get caught in conflict, address it thoughtfully—maybe with a trusted colleague or supervisor in your corner.
4. Create comfort
Aches and pains at your desk? You deserve better! Bring in a cozy cushion, swap out those shoes midday, play calming sounds, or add décor that lifts your spirits. Don’t underestimate how a more comfortable workspace can impact your day.
5. Multitasking? Try monotasking
When you juggle too many tasks, quality can take a nosedive. See if you can focus on one thing at a time. Completing a single project before tackling the next leaves you feeling accomplished and less scattered. Your to-do list—and your mind—will thank you.
6. Perfect isn’t necessary
Striving for excellence is awesome; aiming for perfection 24/7? That’s exhausting. Notice your self-talk and try to be your own cheerleader. Progress beats perfection. Show yourself the same compassion you’d give to your favorite coworker.
7. Move mindfully
Even a brief walk at lunch or a few stretches at your desk can work wonders. If time’s tight, try shifting your stance, wiggling your toes, or taking a lap around the office. Every movement is a victory for your mind and your health.
