Getting To Know Viviane

Viviane has worked for over a decade in the social services field, which has attuned her heart for children and families in crisis. She loves journeying alongside individuals who battle with depression, anger issues, and anxiety to embrace healing. She believes in the God-given potential in each individual and strongly adheres to the fact that every individual is capable of change. Viviane has crossed many cultures as a missionary child growing up and can relate to people struggling with integrating diversity in cultures in their everyday life. Her style of counseling is tailored towards empowering her clients to greater self-awareness and to unveil their strengths and build their resiliency. She is passionate about helping clients shift from self-defeating thoughts to more solution-oriented based on their unveiled strengths.

Style and Approach

Viviane’s counseling approach aligns most with Solution Focused Therapy. She believes that every client has the potential and is capable of change in the counseling process. She believes the partnership between counselor and client is the foundation for success in the therapeutic process. She meets her clients where they are in life and creates a plan with them together in order to work toward a more positive, peaceful, and fulfilling life.

In her work with individuals, couples, and families, Viviane draws from other varied theories and approaches, seeking to utilize strategies that fit best for every unique client, situation and client. Some of these theories include Family Systems Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, and Adlerian therapy.  By drawing from different perspectives and exploring what works best, clients develop themselves, build healthier relationships with others and improve their overall mental health.

Viviane is fluent in English and French, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, a French-speaking country. Viviane is currently volunteering to work with women in crisis in her community in the Dallas area.  She is certified as a Prepare and Enrich facilitator for premarital and marital counseling.
