Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic support and guidance to individuals, particularly those with developmental disabilities. This role requires a deep understanding of various therapeutic techniques and the ability to create personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client. The Therapist will work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support. We are currently fully remote, however, in the future, a physical office is expected and will shift to a hybrid model.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Attends staff meetings regularly and makes appropriate contributions.
  • Completes weekly record sheets correctly and promptly.
  • Maintains good progress notes for each client according to current record- keeping.
  • Maintains standards related to clinical mental health counseling.
  • Maintains standing appointment records within our EHR system.
  • Maintains group records and completes group or program evaluations.
  • Keeps supervision appointments and participates actively and willingly.
  • Seeks feedback and accepts suggestions and criticism well.
  • Is open to self-examination, and assesses personal qualities to promote ability and,
  • willingness to work with individuals from diverse and multicultural backgrounds.
  • Is eager to learn new counseling skills and techniques.
  • Attends supervision meetings, presents cases, and contributes appropriately.
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate counseling sessions and tapes and gain insight.

  • Promotes optimal human development, wellness and mental health through prevention, education and advocacy activities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use procedures for assessing and managing suicide risk.
  • Screens for addiction, aggression and danger to self/others, as well as co-occurring mental disorders.
  • Advocates for policies, programs and services that are equitable and responsive to the unique needs of clients.
  • Maintains information regarding community resources to make appropriate referrals.
  • Uses data to assess effectiveness as a counselor and to adapt interventions accordingly.
  • Uses appropriate self-disclosure and sharing of feelings and experiences.
  • Completes reasonable quantity of work by counseling a sufficient number of counselees.
  • Demonstration of skill level:
    • Individual Counseling, Consultation, Group Counseling, Appraisal/Assessment, Couple & Relationship Counseling Career Counseling, Addiction and Dual Diagnosis Counseling
