Get to know Blake

Blake specializes in working with adults, couples, and adolescents. He is dedicated to meeting you wherever you might be in your life journey, especially in those periods of transition that can prove trying. He believes that we all have the ability to make positive changes in those difficult places of our lives—sometimes, we just need the tools and encouragement to help us get there.

He has a passion for helping those dealing with relationship conflict, spiritual trauma, chronic illness, caregiving fatigue, and faith crisis. Blake is also skilled at working with those dealing with depression, anxiety, loneliness, grief, and the many forms these can take.

Blake seeks to provide a space where you can feel known, understood, and accepted—especially if you might not feel affirmed or embraced elsewhere in your life. It is his belief that the counseling relationship can be a place of hope and healing, especially when combined with evidence-based tools. Some of the tools Blake uses come from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), and mindfulness-oriented approaches. Ultimately, he will work together with you to create a personalized therapy plan that best meets your goals.

Having spent most of his life in Plano and Dallas, Blake is no stranger to navigating the challenges (and roads!) of the DFW area. After completing his bachelor’s degrees in psychology and religious studies at Southern Methodist University, he went on to Perkins School of Theology to complete his Master of Divinity degree. Then, in 2021, he completed his MA in Professional Counseling at Amberton University. Along the way, he has worked in a variety of care positions in many contexts, including churches, hospitals, and colleges. Constant throughout his journey has been a passion for walking side by side with individuals: he brings hope, humor, and healing to those difficult places in which we find ourselves.

Blake enjoys cooking with his wonderful wife, Ashley; petting his stubborn cat, Aubrey; and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends new and old. An avid Star Wars fan and gamer, he embraces all things nerdy and welcomes you to challenge him with your most obscure trivia questions.
