Nancy is a proud Texan, having grown up in Garland and living in Texas her entire life. She attended the University of Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She worked as a Certified Public Accountant for 15 years prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom of twins. During this time away from professional life, she was an active volunteer with her church and children’s school and was also a substitute teacher. She has always had a passion for serving others so when she was ready to return to work outside the home, she decided to change her career to help people on a more personal level. With the support of her family, she began to pursue a career in the counseling field. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in November of 2018. She completed her graduate level internship at a residential inpatient treatment facility where she earned her credential as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).
Nancy believes our world is seen and lived through the lens of our prior experiences. Someone may be feeling the effects of a single traumatic incident, or may be struggling with the weight of years of hurtful events. When experiencing suffering, it can feel like it becomes part of one’s identity which then affects every area of life. One doesn’t have to live this way. Healing is possible!
Nancy works collaboratively with clients in addressing their specific needs and mapping out the best steps for their journey. She uses research-based techniques along with creative and integrative thinking to offer therapy tailored to the uniqueness of each client. Nancy is Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained and working towards a certification. She also utilizes Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to name a few.
Nancy understands that therapy can feel intimidating, especially the first time. It is important to her that clients feel comfortable with the therapeutic process, so she offers a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment to work through life’s difficulties.
So, if you are wanting help with anxiety or depression, finding a way to work through difficult life events, or navigate challenging relationships, Nancy invites you to take the first step in your journey of healing and schedule a session today. She looks forward to meeting you.
Nancy has been married for 20 years and has teenage twins. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog. She also enjoys reading, crochet, gardening and a good cup of coffee. Most Friday nights she can be found at a high school sporting event cheering on her favorite athletes, her kids.
