Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive psychiatric services for our clients. The ideal candidate will bring advanced clinical expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning within an outpatient counseling setting.
As a PNP at Lifeologie Midlothian, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, clinicians, and administrative staff to support client wellness and continuity of care. This role blends direct clinical practice with meaningful therapeutic engagement and integrates seamlessly into our person-centered care model.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions across age groups (adolescents through adults).
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications; monitor efficacy and side effects.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans.
- Provide medication management and supportive psychiatric care.
- Collaborate with therapists and clinical team to align treatment goals and coordinate care.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Educate clients and families about diagnoses, medication use, and mental health strategies.
- Participate in clinical case consultations, quality improvement activities, and peer support systems.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP).
- Current valid Texas APRN license (or eligibility) and PMHNP certification (e.g., ANCC).
- Prescriptive authority consistent with state scope of practice.
- Demonstrated experience in outpatient psychiatric care, consultations, or related settings.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and therapeutic communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary providers and support staff.
- Competence with electronic health record systems and documentation standards.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with diverse mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and substance use challenges.
- Commitment to client-centered, evidence-based care and ongoing professional development.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) a plus.
