Get to know Jazmyn
Jazmyn has a passion for working with individuals across the lifespan experiencing stress, life transitions, behavioral issues, trauma, anxiety, and depression. She also enjoys working with children and adolescents by creating a fun, developmentally appropriate space for self-expression.
In her approach, Jazmyn believes in focusing on the client’s needs and figuring out what has been working, but more importantly what has not. She enjoys helping the client increase their knowledge and awareness of ineffective patterns and replacing them by implementing more positive patterns in their routines. In addition, providing the client with a safe environment enabling growth and self-confidence is important to her.
Jazmyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Prairie View A & M University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Methodist University. Since the start of her career, she has worked heavily with the prison population at the Dallas County Jail and conducted research on minority self-esteem, gender differences in internalized behaviors, and colligate substance use. She has volunteered with individuals across the lifespan instilling encouragement and hope for them to continue on this journey called life.
Jazmyn was born in Austin and raised in Dallas, and believes she is a true Texas girl at heart! She loves to spend time with her family and friends finding different activities around the DFW area. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, listening to podcasts, and reading fun facts about various topics.
