Get to know Kendra
Born in Virginia & raised in Alaska, Kendra has had the opportunity of encountering people from many different walks of life. She is a first-generation Cameroonian-American. She believes throughout all the differences people have we all share one common desire: to be understood. She believes in finding each person’s unique needs to achieve a life of purpose and peace. Her approach to therapy closely follows a holistic and existential approach. Her goal is to help each client uncover their authentic self and have a clear understanding of their values, beliefs, and attitudes.
Kendra hopes to one day gain her yoga certification and incorporate that into her practice. She believes that a strong connection to self will help clients to not only be self-aware of the needs of their soul but to ultimately advocate for themselves in any environment. She hopes to not only work with individuals in counseling but also family counseling and couples’ therapy.
Kendra earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Health Communications at the University of Houston. She moved to Dallas a year and half ago to pursue her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas at Dallas. Her drive to pursue counseling started in college as she saw the impact that mental health had on her peers and how helpful counseling could be for everyone regardless of where they are in their journey. She hopes to continue to advocate for mental health awareness especially throughout different multi-cultural communities.
