Get to know Michelle
Michelle strives to empower her clients by identifying multiple solutions to deal with life’s twists and turns. She specializes in addictions and recovery, domestic and sexual abuse, self-esteem, anxiety/bipolar disorders, Dissassociative Identity disorder and LGBT/Identity issues.
Michelle likes to use different types of counseling techniques depending on the client’s needs. Michelle likes to work with Psychodynamic counseling to be sure that she builds a solid working relationship with her clients. She also uses Cognitive Behavioral therapy to assist the client in being able to not only change their behaviors, but to also change their minds and hearts.
Finally, Michelle uses narrative therapy to help the client till their story and to process each step of it to help the client to have healing and give them closure. Michelle has three Master’s degrees from Liberty University and they are: 1. MA-Religious Education 2. MA- Drug and Alcohol Abuse and Rehab. 3. MA- Mental Health Counseling.
Michelle has 25 years experience in the mental health field working in both inpatient as well as community based. She has experience with both male and female ages from 5- 75 years young. Michelle has been married for 17 ½ years to her best Friend James and has 3 children, Jessie 19, Gerald 16 and Elijah 14. She also has her 4 fur children, Penelo 13, Glitch 4, Puddles 4, and Jasper 2. Michelle is an avid Disney lover. She also is into sports, crafts, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
