Get to know Phyllis

Phyllis earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services, with a Minor in Couples & Family Therapy from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada and is currently pursuing Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNLV. Phyllis is passionate to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health and aims to increase access to services for all, regardless of their background. Phyllis provides unconditional positive regard, empathy, and compassion for all her clients, knowing that they know themselves best.

Phyllis is interested in working with all populations regardless of their sexual, gender, racial, or cultural identity. She is most interested in healing those struggling with depression, gender & sexuality issues, anxiety, identity confusion, and even couples! Phyllis likes to incorporate Gestalt Therapy and Person-Centered theories into her work to help her clients better explore and understand their own lives. She encourages her clients to harbor a growth mindset and meets the client where they are to help them to reach their own goals.

Seeking mental health services is scary, but that is okay! Phyllis remembers the first time she had sat in front of a therapist and how extremely nervous she was too. She encourages you to take the step to healing and hopes you know that you aren’t alone in your worries!

Phyllis has lived most of her life in Las Vegas, but was born in Singapore. She enjoys traveling around the world, learning more about different cultures and unique experiences each location has to offer. She enjoys trying new restaurants & cafes around town and is willing to try anything once! Phyllis’ Spotify playlist includes EDM, pop, rap, r&b, and indie; she loves to attend concerts and festivals in her free time!
