Get to know Rachel
Rachel was born and raised in Texas. She lived in Dallas for most of her life, but also spent time in Tyler, TX for her High School years and Austin, TX for college where she attended the University of Texas. Rachel graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Youth and Community Studies and a minor in Business. After college, she spent a couple years working in the corporate world, where she was able to hone in on her joy for working with individuals in a more personal and supporting capacity. In 2020, Rachel joined the counseling program at Dallas Theological Seminary, where she currently attends.
Rachel looks forward to coming alongside individuals amidst their concerns and struggles. Specifically, she aims to work with individuals who are wrestling with body image issues, addiction, anxiety, eating disorder recovery, and life stressors.
In her preschool and early elementary years, Rachel was often called a “Ham” - creative and confident as she showed off her personally choreographed tap and jazz dances at family gatherings. As she got older, she was more shy and reserved, but those close to her would still call her a “Ham” to this day. Rachel understands the importance of feeling comfortable around someone before you reveal anything, which is why she views establishing a safe and non-judgemental client/therapist relationship as the first priority.
When Rachel is not at Lifeologie, and if she doesn’t have any homework, you’ll find her taking on new challenges - like attempting to cook for her and her husband, or calling it quits and searching for the best breakfast taco joint… which is currently Taco Joint. You’ll also find her spending time with her big sister and her niece and nephew, visiting her grandma who has become one of her best friends and constantly rearranging her apartment.
