Roger Jones believes that everyone's journey is a tapestry of unique experiences and that we all need support from time to time to sort out life's challenges. He is dedicated to helping individuals navigate complex problems such as anxiety, depression, stress management, professional burnout, and LGBTQ+ specific concerns. He also offers comprehensive couples counseling for premarital, marital, or open relationship guidance. With a compassionate approach, he ensures each client feels truly heard and supported throughout their journey, providing a safe and understanding space for all. He focuses on authentic and empathetic listening to unpack and address the root causes of issues that weigh us down.

A Lifetime of Local Service

Roger, a  native Texan, grew up in Dallas and has supported a wide range of people throughout his professional and personal life. Starting in his teaching days in DeSoto and Arlington, he’s also been a school principal, an HR director in one of the major urban school districts in Texas, and a consultant to school districts from Texas to the West Coast.

After transitioning to a career in mental health, Roger now serves as a crisis counselor supervisor at one of the largest non-profit crisis support centers in the United States and has also contributed his expertise as a peer crisis counselor at Crisis Text Line and RAINN. His commitment to providing compassionate support during critical times stems from the belief that good mental health is a right for all.

Educational Journey

Roger completed his undergraduate studies at Dallas Baptist University and earned three Master’s degrees—two from Dallas Baptist and one from Liberty University, focusing on human services counseling, particularly crisis response and trauma. Additionally, he pursued post-Master’s studies at Dallas Baptist and Concordia Universities, continually enhancing his expertise and skills.

Support at Every Step

Roger sees counseling as a chance to connect with and support people during their toughest moments. He feels privileged to walk alongside his clients as they navigate personal struggles. Therapy often begins when things seem hardest, so Roger truly appreciates the strength it takes to reach out. He recognizes that every client's experience is unique and is committed to creating a welcoming environment to help them through each step. Whether providing a listening ear or offering practical strategies, Roger is dedicated to making a positive impact on their lives.

Passions and Adventures

When he's not working with clients, Roger loves baseball and has been a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan since 1986. He enjoys following their highs and patiently waits through the lows, always hoping for next year. Roger is also an avid reader who can't get enough of nonfiction, especially biographies and history books. At home, he's a devoted husband and step-dad. Roger loves to travel, with the beach being his favorite spot—though he prefers it during the cooler months!

A person once said to Roger, "I'm like a yo-yo; I’ve been here too long, and anything I do just keeps me in the same place." Does that sound familiar? Whether it’s pursuing a healthier self, a more satisfying relationship, career satisfaction, or something else entirely, wouldn’t it be amazing to not have to take that next step alone?
