Get to know Emma

Emma Butler works with adults and adolescents who may be enduring stress and anxiety from major life changes, family conflicts or job-related matters

Emma practices therapy through a positive lens and believes that many of the challenges clients face emanate from feelings of discouragement, or coping strategies that are no longer effective. Through a humanistic lens, she helps clients understand how they navigate the world, and how that can impact their emotions, behaviors, and relationships. She also uses perspectives such as birth order to gain understanding of how people interact within families and social settings.

Emma embraces warmth, kindness, and authenticity as the foundation to a therapeutic relationship and works towards creating a safe space for all clients, navigating without judgment, and bringing a bit of levity into the therapy space when appropriate.

She is completing her Master’s in Counseling with a focus in Clinical Mental Health at Southern Methodist University, where she also received her BS in Psychology.

She was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, and although she misses the Midwest, she does not miss the subzero weather. When Emma is not in therapist-mode, she enjoys time with her parents and sister, making pizza with her boyfriend, and exploring with her dog, Henry. Emma loves to watch the Office, read books by the pool, and travel to new places.
