Hello and thanks so much for considering me as a partner on your mental health journey! I live in Winston-Salem, but I’m originally from Nashville, TN. I hold a BFA in Art Education, an MFA in Poetry, and a MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my professional internship at Lifeologie and am so thankful to be continuing as a licensed counselor. I am most excited to work with adults and couples who may be dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, major life changes, family and relationship issues, and identity issues, as well as those who are searching for a creative outlet.
My goal is to help you approach your mental health through a holistic lens. Holistic counseling addresses overall wellness—physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual. I believe that we need to look at the bigger picture in order to gain perspective, identify key strengths and areas for work, and pay attention to the cultural and systemic factors that may be contributing to distress. My theoretical background is based on Multicultural Feminist Theory and integrates a Strengths-Based approach that includes elements of Expressive Arts Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, where appropriate. Our counseling relationship will be about finding what works best for you so that you leave feeling empowered and hopeful. I can’t wait to get started!
