Get to know Monique
Growing up, Monique Blocker Jones saw how the challenges faced by people with mental health conditions and developmental disabilities in her family and her community affected their lives. Her upbringing instilled empathy and sparked a strong desire to help others through difficult times, inspiring her to pursue a career in mental health, where she advocates for and supports individuals with diverse needs. At Lifeologie Counseling Hampton Roads, she provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, especially those experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and related conditions such as skin-picking, nail-biting, and hair-pulling.
Monique received her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regent University. She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and (ACT) for a wide range of issues, and specializes in providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.
Monique’s gift as a therapist is her deep commitment to understanding and supporting each individual’s unique needs. She focuses on creating a safe, trusting space where clients feel heard and respected. With empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in their well-being, Monique understands that every step, no matter how small, is progress. Building strong connections and working alongside clients as they overcome challenges is what truly makes her work deeply meaningful.
In her spare time, she enjoys music, fantasy books, and cycling.
