With a rich background spanning over 15 years in addiction and behavioral health, William Calhoun is a seasoned Licensed Addiction Counselor dedicated to helping individuals from diverse backgrounds navigate life's challenges. He specializes in working with adolescents and adults, and his comprehensive skill set and education empower him to address issues ranging from substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship conflicts to daily stressors and everyday roadblocks.

Inspired by his early experiences in the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, William's passion for assisting others led him to pursue a Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University in 2007, followed by a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2011.

Since relocating to the Shreveport, Louisiana area in 2009, William has been delivering therapeutic services with a dynamic approach in both the public and private sectors. In the public sector, he managed the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment grant for a 600-bed program under the Louisiana Department of Corrections and oversaw a Regional State Behavioral Health Clinic. In the private sector, William provided therapeutic services to diverse groups, from adolescents to those transitioning from incarceration, in various settings, including Level-1 trauma hospitals and Suicide Hotlines.

Beyond traditional therapeutic services, William's expertise extends to ancillary behavioral health roles, such as serving as a psychometrician and acting as the Chief Operations Officer for an 82-bed residential substance abuse facility. Utilizing cognitive and solution-focused approaches, William guides individuals towards a profound understanding of their own schemas, fostering healing and growth. With a commitment to clients' well-being, he combines his educational background, skills, and extensive experience to offer personalized support on the journey to recovery.

In addition to his professional endeavors, William enjoys spending quality time with his family, exploring travel adventures, researching technical diving procedures, and diving. Whether through counseling, psychometric assessment, or leadership in addiction facilities, William stands ready to assist clients on their path to healing and personal transformation.
