Get to know Laura

Laura Harrison works out of our Richardson & Plano location as the Clinical Director and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Laura grew up in Plano and has lived in Texas since the age of three. Along with her husband, she is enjoying the transition to mentoring adult children as the last of her three children has passed the 20 year mark. She has held many jobs over the years including graphic designer, headhunter, curriculum writer, barista and now, counselor.  One thing all her jobs had in common was that they were centered around making connections with people and building relationships.

Working with families and individuals in crisis or transition has always been at the core of Laura’s work as a counselor. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Through these techniques and collaboration with her clients, Laura has had the privilege to help individuals learn how to handle what once seemed overwhelming.

Through her own personal journey, Laura understands the need to look at systems holistically. Each client is encouraged to not only become aware of the thoughts that are impacting their behavior but to also become aware of how their biological, psychological, social, and spiritual connections are impacting their well-being. With that in mind, Laura is also a Certified Health Coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CAC).

In addition to her work as a counselor at Lifeologie, Laura has worked at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County with families, teens, and children who had been impacted by trauma, abuse, or neglect

She specializes in working with Adolescents, Adulting, Depression, Failure to Launch, Family Issues, Life Changing Events, Major Depression, Older Teens, Parenting, Postpartum Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, Trauma & Abuse Recovery, Divorce Recovery, Young Adults, and Young Adults in Transition.

When she is not reading books about psychology, Laura enjoys traveling with her husband and freelancing as a sports photographer.
