Get to know Sarah

Are you adjusting to a loss, big life change, or just feeling stuck? Sarah is here to walk with you when the road gets tough.

Sarah works primarily with adults and teens through grief, loss, anxiety, and identity formation (and reformation). Sarah believes that each person has the strength to grow through the toughest obstacles, and that asking for help can sometimes be one of the hardest steps.

Discovering your identity and creating meaning for yourself is a HUGE project… but it can also be one of life’s most exciting pursuits (even when it’s scary). At many of life’s crossroads, we are forced to question who we are and what we believe in. And sometimes we find that the answer is something we weren’t expecting or aren’t ready to accept.

An ‘east-sider turned west-sider’, Sarah was born in Flint, and moved to Grand Rapids to study art and psychology at Grand Valley State University. She soon discovered that ‘human’ was its own artistic medium, and continued her studies into graduate school at Aquinas College. Sarah loves gardening and caring for her little “colony” at home – cats, dog, turtle, people – it can be a bit of a zoo there! She still enjoys making art whenever she can and is slowly working towards creating her own home studio with her husband.

Sarah also helps Teens, Women, and Elderly Populations, and specializes in

  • LGBTQ & Gender Issues
  • Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum
  • Religious/Spiritual issues
  • Self Harm
  • Social Anxiety
  • Stress Management
  • Terminal Illness
