Get to know Xaria
Xaria Hicks offers meaningful, collaborative support to individuals across the lifespan through an integrative therapeutic approach. Her work blends inclusive play therapy, expressive techniques such as mindfulness, art, and sand tray, somatic practices, existential dialogue, and psychoeducation to create a deeply personalized and healing experience.
For children and adolescents, Xaria primarily utilizes a child-centered play therapy approach, where play becomes the natural language for expression. Within the safety and creativity of the playroom, toys serve as the “words” through which children process and communicate their inner experiences. She also facilitates child-parent relationship therapy to strengthen familial bonds and reduce relational distress.
For adults, Xaria offers a therapeutic space that feels both nurturing and transformative. Whether navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationships, identity development, life transitions, or holistic wellness goals, she supports clients in uncovering insight, building resilience, and reconnecting with their most authentic selves.
Originally from Dallas, Xaria is currently completing a Master of Science in Health Psychology at University College London (UCL). She also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas (UNT), where she specialized in play therapy, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Behavior Analysis from UNT.
Grounded in the belief that self-actualization is shaped by one’s basic, psychological, and developmental needs, Xaria is dedicated to a holistic and inclusive approach to mental healthcare. Her practice centers on authenticity, trust, and individualized support that evolves with each client’s needs and stage of life.
Outside of the therapy space, Xaria enjoys traveling, crafting, gaming, shopping, participating in wellness-based activities, and exploring new culinary experiences.
