Unfiltered: 6 Weeks of Self Discovery For Teen Girls

Being a teenage girl today means navigating an endless stream of carefully filtered images, comparison traps, and messages about how you should look, act, and be. If you're a parent in St. Johns, Florida watching your daughter struggle with self-image or self-worth, you're not alone—and there's a space where she can find her way back to herself.

6 weeks of self-empowerment for teen girls

Unfiltered is a six-week workshop designed specifically for teen girls ready to explore who they really are beyond what they see in the mirror or on their screens.

This isn't just another self-esteem program. It's a safe, structured, small group of 5-8 girls led by two passionate and professional therapists at Lifeologie Counseling St. Johns: Hebah Nijem, who specializes in helping children, teens and families find creative ways to navigate depression, anxiety, OCD, and life's challenges, and Jade Hines, who supports people of all ages with anxiety, addictive behaviors, sports performance issues, and difficulties with self-esteem.

how it works

Through a blend of evidence-based approaches, including art therapy, mindfulness practices, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), the young women in each group will create collages that tell their stories, trace body maps that celebrate their strengths, and learn to quiet their inner critic with compassion instead of criticism. Each week builds on the last, moving from self-awareness to self-acceptance, all within a supportive community of peers navigating the same journey. Whether your daughter is dealing with negative self-talk, social media comparison, or simply wondering who she is apart from others' expectations, this workshop offers practical tools and a judgment-free space to figure it out.

By the final session, participants won't just leave with affirmation cards and journal entries—they'll carry forward a fundamentally different relationship with themselves. They'll have practiced naming their emotions, honoring their bodies' wisdom, learning the difference between awareness and judgment, and recognizing that their inherent worth has nothing to do with their reflection.
