Wondering if medication could help but not sure where to start? You're don't have to figure it out on your own. Here’s everything you need to know about working with a Lifeologie medication management specialist as part of your mental health care team.

Our team can work alongside your therapist to find the right balance for YOU, so there's no guesswork, no pressure, just client-first care. Being client-first at Lifeologie is an oath, not a slogan. When you reach out, we recognize it as a brave, painful, often long-delayed step, and we make a promise: we won’t let you down. We don’t just “see” our clients; we take responsibility for making sure they get the care they need.

What is medication management?

Medication management is a supportive, team-based approach to help you find the right mix of treatment for your mental health. It goes far beyond simply writing a prescription. It means thoughtfully tracking how your medication is working for you, in real life, and adjusting as needed so you feel supported, informed, and in control of your care.

who provides medication management?

Our psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) are trained to assess your mental health needs, collaborate with your primary care provider and therapist, and review all your current medications and supplements before making any recommendations.

does medication management replace therapy?

No. Medication management is designed to complement, not replace, talk therapy. While therapy offers powerful benefits on its own, some mental health challenges can be more effectively addressed through a combination of therapy and medication.

how do I know if I need medication management?

If your symptoms are severe, persistent, or if therapy alone isn't providing enough relief, that's not necessarily a reflection of treatment failure. Your therapist may recommend medication to make sure your care is as effective as possible for your individual situation.

how does the first appointment work?

Your clinician will take time to get to know you individually. They'll begin by gathering a detailed history and evaluating how well your current medications and dosages are working for you. Together, you'll have an open and honest conversation about the benefits and potential side effects of any medications, working as a team to determine the most effective plan.

will my therapist and medication specialist really work together?

Yes. Your medication management specialist can collaborate with your therapist and your primary care provider to ensure your treatment aligns with your therapy goals. This team-based approach helps ensure consistency across your care and supports your ability to thrive at work, at home, and in your relationships.

what kinds of medications might be discussed?

You'll start with a comprehensive review of all of your current medications and supplements (not just mental health prescriptions) before your team makes any recommendations. At Lifeologie, we take a holistic view, considering potential interactions and your full health picture, to make thoughtful, personalized suggestions to help you meet your goals.

is medication management an ongoing process?

Yes. Medication management is not a one-time event. Your team will continue to check in on how well your medications are working, monitor for side effects, and make thoughtful adjustments over time as your needs change. The goal is always to design the most effective, well-tolerated approach for you.
