Get to know Jason
Jason Baniukaitis understands that exploring our lives in therapy may be challenging or intimidating. As such, his goal in therapy is to create an empathetic and collaborative space for clients to explore themselves, their relationships to others, and their relationship to the world around them. As a part of this process, he also seeks to demystify therapy and create a safe and welcoming environment for clients to be themselves.
Jason has experience working with adults and teenagers who are struggling with a wide range of challenges in their lives. Jason is also passionate about providing a safe and affirmative space for LGBTQ+ clients. He has experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and interpersonal dynamics.
Jason works from a perspective that combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and a person-centered orientation. He emphasizes working from an evidence-based framework that uses research as part of his collaborative approach.
Jason completed his Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University, and he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University.
In his free time, Jason enjoys playing tabletop games and spending time with friends, family, and his dog. He also enjoys learning and being exposed to new experiences and ideas.
