Get to know Preston

Preston Gould is a Clinical Counseling Intern who works with adults, couples, and families at Lifeologie Counseling Oak Cliff. He specializes in helping adults with anxiety, ADHD, OCD, burnout, and depression, as well as supporting traditional couples and ethically non-monogamous partners.

Preston earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Texas and is currently completing his Master’s in Counseling at Southern Methodist University. He brings seven years of experience in the mental health field, working with diverse populations across a variety of settings. He began as a Crisis Line Operator at a domestic violence shelter, where he supported individuals in moments of acute distress and connected them with critical community resources. He later worked as a technician at a safe house serving male survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Most recently, he spent two years at the Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas, supporting families impacted by child abuse within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preston approaches counseling with the belief that early emotional experiences shape how we understand ourselves and relate to others. These patterns often continue into adulthood, influencing relationships, self-perception, and overall well-being. In therapy, he works collaboratively with clients to explore these patterns with curiosity and care, helping them better understand how past experiences may contribute to present challenges.

He strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and emotionally attuned space where clients feel safe, seen, and understood. Preston believes that meaningful change occurs not only through insight, but also through new emotional experiences that foster connection, authenticity, and growth.

Outside of the therapy room, Preston enjoys producing and mixing house music.
