Get to know Amber

Amber works with adolescents, adults, individuals struggling with body image issues and eating disorder. Additionally, she works with stress-management, anxiety, panic attacks, anger management, life transitions, spiritual identity and other identity development issues. She helps her clients tackle multiracial challenges, trauma and chronic pain and uses somatic experiencing, expressive arts, mindfulness, psychotherapeutic yoga and DBT to help facilitate change.

Amber is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin in 2016 (Hook ‘em) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Communications and holds a Master’s of science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University.  After graduating TWU in the fall of 2019 with a Master’s of Science in, she became 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher through The LISPY school, and a is a trained Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

A native Texan, Amber has been passionate about helping individuals have a fulfilled life since she was very young. Amber was always the cheerful little girl walking around to others and telling them “I hope you have a great day today,” Her large family and her family home has always been a safe spot for family to come together and enjoy time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. 

She has always been someone others could confide in and has a passion to be present for others when they believe they have no one else. She believes the relationship between the counselor and client is of utmost importance so that individuals feel safe to share their thoughts and concerns freely without feeling judged. She creates a safe, accepting, and positive environment that allows clients to feel welcome and willing to work without being afraid to explore their inner selves.

When Amber is not at Lifeologie, she enjoys being outside and exploring the DFW area as well as playing soccer or doing yoga. She is living her best auntie life, and loves connecting with her five nieces as often as possible. She also appreciates being able to bake and cook new recipes; color or draw new pictures; unwind on the couch with Netflix and her cat, Cleo; and traveling to the coast when she can.
