Brent Strunk is a therapist at Lifeologie Counseling Oak Cliff who offers in-person and telehealth counseling for teens (13+) and adults navigating life's challenges, transitions, and personal growth. He specializes in working with high-achieving teens, young adults, and athletes experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, performance pressure, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck in relationships, overwhelmed by stress, struggling with anxiety or depression, or facing uncertainty about the future, Brent provides a supportive space to explore challenges, build insight, and create meaningful change.

Brent helps adolescents and adults who feel trapped by worry, stress, low mood, self-doubt, or overwhelming expectations. He works collaboratively with clients to understand the underlying causes of anxiety and depression while developing practical tools to manage symptoms, strengthen resilience, and improve overall well-being.

As a former college athlete, Brent has a particular passion for working with teen and young adult athletes. He helps athletes navigate performance anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, injury recovery, identity challenges, and the pressures that often accompany competitive sports. Drawing from both personal experience and clinical training, Brent supports athletes in building confidence, managing stress, and developing a healthier relationship with performance while staying connected to their values both in competition and in everyday life. He understands that many athletes wrestle with questions of self-worth, identity, and purpose beyond their sport, and he helps clients cultivate a stronger sense of self that extends beyond competition.

Life transitions can be exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. From starting high school or college to launching a career, moving to a new city, or adjusting to unexpected life changes, Brent helps clients navigate periods of transition with greater confidence and self-understanding. His compassionate, collaborative approach encourages clients to embrace uncertainty, manage difficult emotions, and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Healthy relationships are central to emotional well-being, yet they can also be among life's greatest challenges. Brent helps clients explore communication patterns, navigate conflict, strengthen boundaries, and cultivate deeper connections in both romantic and platonic relationships.

With a professional background in the medical field, specifically in pain management, Brent understands the complex relationship between physical and emotional health. He works with clients experiencing chronic headaches, back pain, joint injuries, sports-related injuries, and other ongoing health concerns, helping them manage both the physical and emotional impact of living with pain. This unique perspective allows him to provide holistic support at the intersection of body and mind.

Brent earned his Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences from Hendrix College and his Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. His therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, ensuring that each session is tailored to the client's unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

Outside the therapy room, Brent enjoys riding his motorcycle through the Texas countryside, staying active, gaming with friends, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his two cats—who, he admits, keep him humble at home. His warmth, life experience, and commitment to authentic connection guide his work as he helps clients find clarity, healing, resilience, and growth.
