Get to know Emma
Emma Butler is a compassionate therapist who focuses on helping adults and adolescents navigate life’s curveballs, whether they’re wrestling with major transitions, family dynamics, or the weight of job-related stress. Specializing in intimate partner violence, sexuality, and empowerment for couples and individuals, Emma combines a humanistic approach with an insightful understanding of how past experiences shape our present-day emotions, behaviors, and relationships. She believes that much of the struggle clients face stems from outdated coping mechanisms and a lack of self-compassion.
Her therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and authentic. Emma creates a space where vulnerability is welcomed, humor is sometimes the best medicine, and clients can explore sensitive topics like sexuality and personal empowerment without fear of judgment.
Emma earned her Master’s in Counseling with a focus on Clinical Mental Health at Southern Methodist University. Drawing from different theories, including birth order dynamics, she helps clients better understand how they fit into the family puzzle and navigate their social worlds.
Outside of therapy, you can find her making pizzas on Friday with her fiancé, watching The Office, exploring with her dog Henry, or playing games and reading by the pool. An Illinois native, Emma adores the Midwest, visits friends and family when possible, but doesn’t miss the subzero winters.
