Get to know Glernise

Glernise Williamson sees children, adults, couples, families, and active and veteran service members at Lifeologie Counseling Hampton Roads. Her past experience in social services allows her to easily connect with adults facing trauma, social injustice, poverty, homelessness, depression, and intimate partner violence. She also has a background in both school and in-home counseling, bringing compassion and experience to support children and teens who are struggling.

Her grounded, relational approach helps clients feel empowered as they navigate life’s transitions and emotional stressors. She is especially passionate about supporting clients who are ready to build self-confidence, manage anxiety and anger, process trauma, and move through life transitions with clarity and resilience.

Glernise holds a Master’s in School Counseling from Capella University and a Bachelor’s in Human Services from Old Dominion University. She is a National Board Certified Counselor and is trained in Trauma-Informed Care. She works from an integrative, client-centered perspective, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Glernise is encouraging and easy to talk to. She believes firmly that working in mental health allows her to make a meaningful, positive difference in her clients’ lives and help them discover their full potential.

Outside of her work, Glernise enjoys Netflix, a good comedy show, a great massage, motivational messages, traveling to different places, adventures like skydiving, eating foods from unique cultures, listening and dancing to different music, and spending quality time with her family.
