Get to know Julia

If you are looking for someone who really understands kids (and can help YOU understand yours), Julia is your girl!  Julia works with kids and their parents through tough times, like struggles with schooling, divorce, grief & loss, general anxiety, social anxiety, and depressive symptoms. She understands that feeling safe and seen is the foundation of supporting children in a therapeutic setting. She puts a strong emphasis on building a  solid rapport with both the child and their caregivers.  Julia enjoys helping children learn how to identify & communicate their emotions, explore coping skills with mindfulness techniques, and redirect negative thoughts.  Julia seeks to provide support to the child & their caregivers in managing struggles in a way that works uniquely to the whole individual.  Julia also enjoys working with tweens and teens, connecting with them through their interests, and meeting them where they are at in their journey to feel supported in facing the challenges of middle and high school with confidence.

In addition to providing therapy here at Lifeologie, Julia works locally supporting kiddos with autism and their caregivers connecting them with necessary resources.  She also has previously provided ABA therapy to kiddos with ASD, and has several years of experience working within the school system, coming alongside parents and teachers who were struggling with school related frustrations.

Julia grew up in the Metro Detroit area.  She moved to Grand Rapids over 10 years ago to complete her undergraduate education in Psychology, Sociology and Spanish at Grand Valley State University.  She recently completed her Masters in Clinical Social Work through Michigan State University while interning here at Lifeologie before joining the team as a therapist!

When Julia is not working, she attends as many concerts as possible!  She loves to explore spirituality and astrology, discover new music, listen to podcasts, read, spend time with friends & family, and hang out at home with her cats Turbo & Spritz, where she can often be found frequently redecorating her home.
