Get to know Kimberly

Kimberly Bensie specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with ADHD, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, behavioral disorders, interpersonal difficulties, and trauma. She is currently accepting new telehealth clients at Lifeologie Counseling Hampton Roads.

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, EMDR, and other techniques, Kim tailors each session to the needs of individuals and their identified goals, and is passionate about empowering clients and their families to reconnect with their strengths, whether they are seeking short-term support or long-term healing. She is especially adept at communicating and working with school-age children ages 8-17.

Through collaboration, compassion, and empathy, Kim strives to create a safe and nonjudgemental space where clients can explore challenges and move toward meaningful change. She walks beside her clients with warmth, insight, and respect for their journey.

Kim received her Masters in Human and Social Services and her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Walden University. Prior to becoming a therapist, she served in the US Air Force and in the US Navy. In addition to her expertise in private practice, she has experience working with individuals within a hospital setting, providing community-based services for intensive in-home mental health skill building, and serving with a local community services board.

Outside of the office, Kim loves a great laugh and spontaneity. For the most part she will try many things at least once, especially food. She is a huge foodie. Her love for nature is a big part of her identity. She enjoys the open air to play sports, chill with family or friends, go on hikes, or take long drives with music. Just don’t ask her to go tent camping!
